The Slingshot produces 173 hp (129 kW) at 6200 rpm and 166 lb-ft (225 N•m) of torque at 4700 rpm. The same engine was formerly used by General Motors in the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky sports cars and the popular Chevrolet Cobalt.
